Sunday Worship

Gathered Worship

Join us on Sunday mornings as we meet together to worship God. Here's an idea of what you can expect on Sunday morning.

On Sunday mornings we meet at 9:30am for Sunday School and 10:45am for gathered worship. Our gathered worship lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes. We worship God by reading and hearing from His Word, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, reciting a catechism, giving tithes and offerings, and praying together. After the sermon, we sing a song of response and conclude our service.

Preaching

Preaching is central to our gatherings, and most preaching at Crossroads is expositional. This means that the sermon is derived from a particular passage of Scripture, and that the focus and message of the passage is the focus and message of the sermon.

Ordinances

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are crucial elements of our corporate worship. We celebrate together the baptism of those who profess faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and whose lives evidence genuine repentance of sin. As we partake of Communion, we celebrate our redemption by confessing our sins, remembering our Lord’s death, and rejoicing in His all-sufficient sacrifice.

We believe God calls us to…

Engage in weekly worship services, connect through small groups, and find places in which to serve one another, our community, and our world.

Invest in one another’s lives through relationships, care, and support.

Serve with the gifts and resources God has provided to strengthen the church, meet needs in our community, and to reach out with gospel hope both near and far.

Our worship services express that we are…

Reformed in our theology. Our aim in worship is to be a people guided and governed by God’s Word for the glory of His name and the joy of His people. Our God is in the heavens and He does all that He pleases. Therefore, we make our appeal to one another through His Word for His purposes.

Servants of one another. We understand the Spirit to be given as a means to building up the corporate body of Christ. We encourage members to use Sunday mornings as an opportunity to connect and build one another up in obedience to the “one anothers” of the New Testament.
